If you know a Veteran, tell them “Thanks!” We take everyday freedom for granted. Having recently read about some of the atrocities in WWII, I’m grateful for those who put their lives on the line so we can enjoy the freedom we have today.
Thank you to all those who have served!
Recently, my niece asked about my dad who served in WWII and the Korean Conflict. It opened up a flood of memories about him. He has been gone, now for over two years so the memories are very dear. He and his 5 other brothers believed in serving our country. Remember them this Veteran’s Day!
It was wonderful to see so many people out to honor those wonderful men and women who serve and have served our country in the military. The streets of Ogden, Utah were lined with people waving, taking pictures and solemnly remembering those who have served.
The high school R.O.T.C. marched proudly flanked between those who have served and those who currently serve.
Floats carrying veterans of wars past all waved with pride.
Many military vehicles quietly rolled by. Bagpipers in kilts and military bands shared exuberant music as they marched through the streets.
Every branch of the military was represented!
What a thrill to be among those spectators and be able to feel the patriotic passion of this event. Thanks to you all for your service to protect our liberty!
In celebration of Veteran’s Day this November, we are asking military families and friends to tell us how they celebrate Veteran’s Day and how they honor those who have and currently served. We want to share ideas for this great day with everyone.
