The Celiac Kid is now a week old. It has been an exciting week. Many people have become friends with us on Facebook. There is definitely many people who are interested in celiac and gluten free food/diets. As I have read several articles that people have shared through Facebook and Twitter, the need for more information is certainly sought after. The biggest struggle to me is how do you know for sure that something is gluten free. This celiac kid needs to know!
When my little grandson was diagnosed with celiac disease we were relieved to have an answer to why he didn’t feel well most of the time. But it did open a large door of questions. The family started researching celiac and gluten-free food. Reading food labels made our grocery trips much longer. I was concerned about how this little boy would live with it and what challenges he would face when he started school. The Celiac Kid was taking form. Research showed me that 1% of the population would suffer from this disease and many would be children. Although my grandson is The Celiac Kid, the book will help explain to many children and parents about this disease. Hopefully, The Celiac Kid will make more of us aware of celiac and more understanding of those who live with it.
The Celiac Kid now has a button. Help spread the word by putting a button on your blogs and websites.

The smell of freshly printed books is amazing. I call it “the author’s high.” Smelling, feeling and seeing a newly published book truly is exhilarating!
This book came to be because my grandson has celiac disease. Because of that I want to know all I can about it so he can stay with me on vacations, etc. and he nor his parents have to worry about what he eats. At age four this cute little boy was already understanding what celiac meant and how it would impact his life. The book was written in his voice and, truly, he would explain it to you in the same way. He is a “Super Celiac Kid!”
We are thrilled to announce the release of our new book: The Celiac Kid! It is so exciting to see the finished product! Be the first to buy your own copy at our store.
